Clinical Studies on Congestive Heart Failure in Pregnancy

Abstract

|
The congestive heart failure could be developed during late antepatum, intrapartum and early postpartum, and it has been in medical interests and one of causes of maternal death. A clinical study was carried out to evaluate 21 cases of congestive heart failure related with pregnancy, and it results were summarized as follows : 1. Overall incidence was 0.47%. 2. Three out of 21 congestive heart failure cases were demonstrated organic disease in electrocardiogram. 3. Twelve out of 21 cases were in age 25 to 30. 4. In 13 out of 21 congestive heart failure cases were developed within first week following childbirth. 5. The congestive heart failure had close relationship with anemia, hypertension, multiple pregnancy and lower socioeconomic status.
